AS SICK AS OUR SECRETS
Dark Psychological Thriller | Feature Film & 6-Episode Limited Series | In Development
Based on A.B. Whelan's bestselling psychological thriller, As Sick as Our Secrets is a dark, female-led story exploring domestic abuse, manipulation, buried secrets, and the dangerous transformation of a woman determined to reclaim control of her life.
Combining the psychological suspense of Gone Girl with the complex characters and dark storytelling of His & Hers, The Sinner, and Under the Bridge, the project explores what happens when a woman must become a monster to take down one.
Current Development Status
The original bestselling novel has been adapted into both a completed feature film screenplay and a fully scripted six-episode limited series.
A 15-minute proof-of-concept film has also been produced, featuring key characters and establishing the project's atmosphere, visual direction, and psychological tension.
The project is currently in the development and packaging stage, with a preference for the limited series format. Both adaptations are available for consideration.
Market Potential
As Sick as Our Secrets combines an established literary property with the commercial appeal of character-driven psychological suspense.
Its female-led narrative explores timely themes of domestic abuse, power, manipulation, survival, and moral ambiguity. Set against the contrasting worlds of affluent Los Angeles and the city’s darker underbelly, the story offers strong cinematic potential.
The six-episode format provides a complete, emotionally charged narrative designed for audiences who enjoy layered mysteries, complex relationships, and unexpected twists.
